Location
"In the Studio with MJ" is a traveling seminar series hosted by Brad Sundberg, who served as Michael Jackson's Technical Director and engineer for nearly 18 years, working closely with MJ on albums including Bad, Dangerous, HIStory, and Blood on the Dance Floor. Inthestudiowithmj Sundberg travels globally offering these immersive lectures, sharing behind-the-scenes stories, unreleased insights, and rare recordings.
Attendees get to see and hear what it was like to be in the studio with Michael — through a carefully crafted timeline of music, video, and behind-the-scenes information — along with stories from time spent on tour, on film shoots, and at Neverland Valley Ranch.
It's an intimate, fan-focused experience where one of MJ's closest collaborators pulls back the curtain on how some of the most iconic pop music ever made actually came together.
In Brad's own words: "Four studio albums. Countless sessions. Video mixes. Dance mixes. Three world tours. A ranch called Neverland. This was my life and career for nearly 20 years, working closely with the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson."
This is your chance to hear the music, the stories behind the music, and what it was like to be a part of Michael's team.

"In The Studio With MJ" - the full updated event!
I was Michael's technical director and part of the engineering team on four studio albums, including "Bad", "Dangerous", "HIStory", and "Blood On The Dance Floor." (Michael even gave me the nickname "Really, Really Brad".) These mammoth projects (including production, tour-prep and countless remixes) took upwards of 16 months each. You will see and hear what it was like to be in the studio with Michael and the team of engineers and producers who created these songs, through a carefully crafted timeline of music, video and behind-the-scenes info. From "Captain Eo" to "Man In The Mirror" to "Smile", I was there, and you will hear about my time working with Michael.
I truly hope you will consider spending some time in the studio with me on any or all of these one-of-a-kind events we have created for anyone who loves music and Michael's legacy!

Mixing and Stories In The Studio With MJ
One of my favorite and fully unscripted events, Mixing and Stories is an interactive and fun exploration into Michael's amazing discography. A few guests will get a chance to mix custom-created stems from the original studio multitracks, plus I help break down the songs and share many stories and insights about Michael's music and the techniques we used on several of Michael's tracks. It's fun, requires zero experience, and it's a time to relax or dance and listen to Michael's music like you have never heard it before!

Truly a very unique experience for Michael’s fans, as well as those who love music and want to peek “behind the curtain”.

“Brad’s seminars offer a fascinating, eye (and ear)-opening experience, in which genuine insights about Michael Jackson as an artist, a person and a friend, are revealed. I thoroughly enjoyed the warm, conversational approach and the deep well of materials. There were several goosebump moments. Brad puts you right there, inside the studio in those eras, and shows how the magic was made. I couldn’t recommend it more to both fans of Jackson and anyone who cares about music.”Brad’s seminars offer a fascinating, eye (and ear)-opening experience, in which genuine insights about Michael Jackson as an artist, a person and a friend, are revealed.
